What you see here is a 中山裝 Zhongshan suit, named after 孫中山 (Sun Zhongshan) Sun Yat-sen. In the west, it is known as a Mao suit, named after 毛泽东 (Mao Zedong). In Japan, it is known as the gakuran (学ラン) or the tsume-eri (詰め襟), the uniforms for many middle and high school boys.
If anyone is wondering how come the second button of my school uniform is missing, that’s because the second button of the top of a guy’s uniform is often given away to the girl he has feelings for, and is considered a way of confession as the second button is the one closest to the heart.
