Blog Mascot

No words in the tongue of man can express the state of complex emotion I am going through right now. Eat your heart out Edward Elric.

What you are seeing right now is a figurised version of my blog mascot. For the uninitiated, let me briefly explain her origins.

The original character is Nanaka Shirakawa from the eroge Da Capo II. The year was somewhere in 2007, Danny posted a post about a Nanaka Shirakawa bust aka a figure without hands and legs. Unfortunately that post seems to be gone now so anyway, majority of the responses are they don’t kinda like figures without hands and legs. And so a member suggested why not just add the arms and legs yourself with spare parts from other figures? An idea struck me and I came up with this. The arms are from some random gundam and the legs are from Fauna. I didn’t have photoshop at that time so the picture was sewn together using good old reliable MS Paint.

Another member, Kintaro, even drew a sketch of my abomination.

Danny proposed why not use it for my blog? I would love to but I don’t have a blog at that time so the pic was hidden inside my hard disk along with the other NSFW stuffs. As things turn out, that very picture was one of the things that motivated me to start a blog as I didn’t want such a creation to be forgotten.

Thus the blog was born. She was nameless and watched over the old blog till I migrated over to wordpress. During the move, I am delighted to be able to commission talented artist chun to give her a new makeover which is in use currently. She even gave her a name, Gordenette. ^^;

Ok back to the figure.

This is how she looks like out of the box before going onto the operating table.

From D.C. & D.C. II Portrait Collection by COSPA. There are 4 other characters from the series as well.

Make a guess which gundam’s arms are those? (‘~’)

puni puni~

Forget to mention I got her at the recent concluded AFA 09.

Her hands has a griping strength of >9000. She loves knitting and cooking as well.

I was going to give her legs to complete the look but unfortunately I was unable to attach Fauna’s legs onto her as Fauna’s lower half has this protruding joint. Fortunately comrade Lightning Sabre volunteered and applied some photoshop magic which you may see the final result here.

One small achievement my girl has accomplished is been immortalised as a embroidery patch with a run of 300 that is been sold/traded to 501st members worldwide. ^^;

There are other plans planned for my girl for the future which I can’t say right now but will be revealed in due time. Before we go, since Christmas is coming, I have given her a bath and she looks all sparkling clean right now. ^^;

    Looks awesome! :3

    Is that 1/100? if it is 1/100, might look better with 1/60 shoulder pads (or just bigger) and keep the arms 1/100

  5. Persocom says:

    that is so awesome, nice to see the story behind the mascot a little more too. I don’t think I’ve seen a mascot made from parts of figures before, she’s definitely one-of-a-kind. Hopefully you can find someone good enough at photoshop to make the legs look attached. Looking forward to seeing what you have planned for her ^^

    Looks like that the arms are from 1/100 MG Aile Strike Gundam. Maybe 1/60 will fit the proportions a tad better? Nevertheless 1/100 still looks okay 😮

    Actually, Nanaka with Fauna’s legs and gundam arms were derived from my comment on DC, but you can take all the credit if it makes you feel better.
