Evangelion 1.01 And Good After Sales Customer Service

In my previous post I mentioned there was a bug in my Evangelion 1.01 DVD in which the end of scene 6 cannot transact to scene 7. Not sure am I the only one having this problem but others I know do not have this problem.

So one day after the post was published, I received an e-mail from the DVD distributor informing me that they will mail a new DVD to me together with the introductory booklet.

I was delighted but I also wonder how do they know I have a faulty DVD? After thinking through it, I came to the conclusion that it must be the e-mail address I wrote inside the reply slip to redeem the introductory booklet. I wrote gordonator_blogspot @ xxx as my e-mail so I guess whoever got the slip saw it and visited my blog. He/She must had read my entry the day before and decided to take the initiative to replace my DVD.

Good customer service do exist after all and I very thankful for that.

    LOL, I don’t need a replacement, thankfully, VERY THANKFULLY.

    And you mailed it to them? How long did it take for them to correspond w/ you Gordon? I supppose I’ll do it on Monday or Tuesday. I need some form of bonus, aside from a “making of” and a few trailers.

    Oh, and the extent of explosions in NGE 1.01 is the HAXXXX

    I mean, I doubt they’ll take the initiative to check out a blog, and replace an item without a request from the customer.

    I don’t think I have encounter something like this, EVER, in Malaysia, where they actually email you about replacing some damaged stuff. I never buy original DVDs here anyway… so yeah. haha.

    I dont buy original DVDs as well, but I’m glad there are still some examples of good customer service in Singapore 🙂

    frankly speaking, i never expected them to take the initiative to contact me regarding replacing the DVD as well. i never thought of feed backing this to them either.

    @Gordon: Unfortunately no. Instead I buy their other merchandises like their manga, figurines or artbooks.

    So in a way watching Anime free generates my interest in other related products.

    Me same as abao. Actually originals here doesn’t really mean “originals”. Most of those that I have encountered, some idiot downloaded an anime series from the internet, slapped in his own subs, and the idiot garblement slapped an “ori” sticker on it. That’s our so-called original DVD.

    cool. i respect that. in fact i also cut down a lot on buying DVDs. now i buy those movies that i really like and *cough* download *cough* the rest. *cough*

    u missed nothing. it haven’t come yet.

    i got it at the cathay.

    i used to think the same way too. buy for collection. but i then realised it will just take up space and collct dust. i will rather everythign stay inside my hard disk for easy keeping and sharing. ^^

    yes indeed. i’ll write an e-mail to thank the person when i receive the DVD.

    Haha you’re right about that bro ! But hor HDD oso have limited space eventhough never got dust on em’ (need defragmenting once a month though..^^”), but no latest anime in my collections, mostly was J-drama or J-artist DVD.
