Wishing all a prosperous new year in the year of the Ox, many happy returns, best of health and make a fortune in 2009.

Spent Chinese New Year’s Eve around town immersing the festive spirit and taking some photos.

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore.

Firecrakers were ignited punctually at at the stroke of midnight at Eu Tong Sen Street in Chinatown. Because of high human congestion, wasn’t able to secure a good shooting spot. There’s a small scale fireworks after that but because of all the smoke from the firecrackers, doesn’t turn out too good.

Lastly, lots of balloons are released. Beautiful sight. Even more beautiful if the smoke isn’t there.

A touching scene among the crowd. A raincoat wearing child is being lifted up by his father’s strong hands to get a better view. The innocent look on the child leaves an deep impression.

. Nice photos.
Happy New Year!!~XD
Love the pictures ^^ Smoke really is an issue when fireworks/firecrackers are going. In my town, during the 4th of July it’s so horrible that I pretty much have to stay inside. If I go out I practically suffocate from all the smoke, pretty much the entire town lights off firecrackers and the likes, and on top of that my wife is allergic to sulfur, which is about all you can smell on a day like the 4th.
Hey everyone, Gung He Fat Choy..from an old Oxen woamn..!!

Your post reminds me I need to catch up on my Chinese. I can only read some of the simpler characters, and it’s not enough to know the meaning of the whole sentence. >.< 今年的红包 is "This year’s Hong Bao" right?
